Happy Endings!

Read about some of our horses we've been able to place with their loving forever families!
Selling horses isn't always about the profit. For us, its about the right horse and the right owner.
We make dreams come true for them all!

Tortuga 72 (aka Turtle)

As the proud owner of one of the fine young horses bred by Kristen, I cannot say enough good things about Winterfell Farm, the young horses they produce and the excellent teamwork they prove to have in producing one of the most mannerly young horses I’ve had the privilege to work with, and am excited to own.  As a busy professional with precious few stalls to fill with special prospects of my own, it is of the greatest importance to find a horse that I want to be around for a decade to produce to his potential.

I purchased Tortuga 72 (an Oldenburg rising 2 yr old by Tolegro – Totilas x Krack C),  from Kristen and was met by not only honest and frank answers to my questions, but also complete professionalism from the first point of contact, to arranging payment and finally transport.  I was greeted warmly by Christopher -and a warm and cozy but businesslike barn in the most idyllic setting I can imagine- full of beautiful horses, including the happy, healthy, well-mannered young horse I purchased from Winterfell.  Christopher’s passion for riding, training and competing is evident and he knows each of the horses under his care well. Kristen clearly loves the horses she owns and breeds, and this is the type of breeder I want to purchase a horse from, who will be as excited as I will be in helping the youngster move forward as a riding horse.  I feel like I’ve not only found my next prospect, I’ve added on to my Trinity Dressage Family of Friends!

Upon bringing Tortuga home, I learned that he was as handled and confident as I could have ever hoped for.  He loaded like a champ, crossties well, stands for the farrier and vet, and was an easy transition into my small family of personal horses I maintain at my home.  I look forward to watching him grow a bit and know he has every likelihood of transitioning well to my training barn and beginning his training under saddle.

I am looking forward for seeing what the future holds for Tortuga 72 and am so glad to have to learned about Winterfell Farm and their program! We have big plans!

Annie Fox Chase Jan
Annie 3
Annie 1

Carte Blanche (aka Annie)

A 2010 OTTB chestnut mare, with no white. Annie has a ton of scope and loves to jump. Annie would make a lovely Jr. equitation\show hunter mare. Annie has been schooling around 2'9 and showing 2'6, with a lead change and plenty of jump to do more. Also Annie has been to a numerous amount of shows.  Annie has also been on multiple trail rides and loads on the trailer with ease. With all this Annie also loves people, and wants to be groomed all day. This mare is very special and would make someone very very happy!!!!

We are very happy to have paired Annie with her new Owner, Meg Taibl.  Meg and Annie make the perfect pair!  Whats better is that Annie boards with us! So.... we get to see her and her progress EVERYDAY!

Lucien Loch Moy

Loose and Capable (aka Lucien)

Lucien loves to Jump! We discovered his scope and desire to jump and luckily found a home for him in the Jumper ring. Lucien has gone on to do great things, and enjoys his jumper winnings yearly!

We are happy to report we get to keep in touch with Lucien and his owner and often hear of his wins and successes.... We are thrilled to hear the pair are making waves!

Picadilly Circus (aka Sherlock)

Piccadilly Circus aka Sherlock is a never raced Thoroughbred who is built like a Warmblood! Carefully started and brought a long slowly due to his size, he has competed in Dressage, Hunters, and Jumpers. He truly excels at any discipline. He has the movement for dressage, the consistency for hunters, and loves to jump like any gifted jumper or Cross Country horse.

He is one of our most un-complicated horses we've ever had here at Winterfell Farm! Sherlock and his mommy are super happy showing, trail riding and hanging out!

Star Crossties

Noble Star (aka Star)

Star joined Winterfell Farm to produce a foal, and that she did! Bred to Silvio of Tim Daly Stables, Middleburg Virginia   and foaled a beautiful Filly, named Sasha.  Star's forever mom fell in love with her while she was in foal, and as soon as she was cleared from mommy duties, she asked to purchase her!

We are able to keep up with Star and her forever mommy often, and are happy to say, theyre both in love!

botie confirmation

Bayhill Botien (aka) Botie

A  Bay 2010 Cleveland Bay/TB cross Gelding, Homebred specifically for his size, confimation and demeanor.  He loves to work, and is excelling at his jobs! Botie has just broken onto show scene, where he is placing in the ribbons each time, and ALWAYS a crowd favorite. Botie is currently in training for Dressage with Speiser Sport Horses, and the talented Allison Spivey. He loves to jump, and although green because of age, he is willing, and usually honest. Botie is only 4, and needs a solid rider, who's confident in themselves. Botie is coming along nicely, and has no vices. Botie, trailers, loads, clips, stands for the farrier, vet and grooming, bathes and easy to hand graze!

Botie is LOVING life in his new home! He is foxhunting weekly, taking lessons and thouroughly enjoying his life! He lives locally, under the surname "Cipher" but sends near weekly updates! We are so happy for Botie!

Seapoint (aka Timber)

Timber is a 2012 gelding who spent some time on the track, but clearly wasnt born to run .... Built more like a draft cross, Timber came to us on a cold snowy night in February.  Quickly, he settled into life on the farm, and taught US that he could jump.... RIGHT OUT OF HIS PADDOCK!  After some down time, and rest, Timber went to work, and we realized he wasnt into doing things like jumping for fun, or racing around a course. Some friends of ours took a gander at him, and before we knew it, the US Park Police were calling to ask if they could come visit him.  Sure enough, they asked if Timber could be one of them! Timber was so happy we couldnt possibly say no! So we kissed and off he went to the US Park Police Basic Training Camp. Timber has passed all of their challenges, surpassed their expectations and continues to do well and ENJOY his life!

Timber keeps up updated every couple of weeks, and sends us photos to let us know, he is a happy happy boy!

"About a two years ago I bought my second horse (a 5 year old thoroughbred), Piccadilly Circus, from Kristen.  I couldn’t be happier with him, he is truly my soul mate in animal form! He came to me with a great training foundation, despite only being off the track for just a short period of time.  I am so grateful to have found him! Thanks Kristen!"
